Seaman and Sons Builders was founded in 1954 by Allen Seaman a lifetime Southampton, Ontario resident. Mr. Seaman was a carpenter and cabinet maker schooled in the famous Southampton furniture business. With a growing family of two sons and a daughter, Allen built many of the fine homes and cottages that make Southampton famous throughout Ontario as the place to work, live, vacation and retire.
Allen’s son Ron and his son Derek carry on a family tradition. These two serve not only as businessmen, but also as civic volunteers and leaders. They have a reputation of honesty, quality and dedication to their customers.
Derek, Ron’s son and Allen’s grandson has grown up in the building business. Derek has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Housing and Real Estate Management from the University of Guelph. He has taken many additional courses in areas vital to business, building and new technology. He lives in Southampton with his wife Amanda, sons Bradley and Cole and their dog Buster.

Ron Seaman served for over 18 years as a Public Utilities Commissioner. He has volunteered for many things over the years. Here are just a few:

Fund Raising committee for the Southampton Coliseum.

Board of Directors of the Friends of the Flag. This project is wholly supported by private funds. It created the tallest flag on the Canadian coast of Lake Huron and serves as an attraction and landmark for the area.

Marine Heritage Society. The family has supported the innovative restoration of Chantry Island. They have given financially and with countless hours of volunteer help.
Seaman and Sons Builders continues today to do the best of custom building and renovation. They have built some of the finest homes in the area. They have renovated many of the beautiful old homes in the community returning them to former splendor.
